These healthy, homemade pizza recipes are exciting and easy with Mesa de Vida!

My husband has said “this is the best pizza I’ve ever had.” about all three of these pizza recipes. The ingredients are simple, but the flavor is definitely on another level of deliciousness.

If you’re looking for a gourmet pizza recipe that is easy enough for anyone to make, yet perfect for a dinner party, look no further. This will surely bring life to your table, whether for a quick weeknight dinner or gathering around the table with friends for a fun meal on the weekend.

Gourmet Moroccan Lamb Pizza

This healthy, gluten-free, gourmet pizza recipe is a little different than most. Toss out the idea of having to have a sauce-slathered crust. The flavor base for this amazing homemade pizza is meat (or meat substitute) simmered in our healthy global gourmet cooking and seasoning sauces. This saucy, meaty mixture makes the perfect start to your homemade pizza. Then loads of vegetables are added, and just enough cheese to bring it all together. You’ll make an absolutely delicious pizza that has a lot of protein, and a big serving of vegetables, for a true meal-in-one.

You can make these pizzas “loaded”, and use 2 thin cauliflower crusts. This generally serves my family of 4 very hungry eaters, plus a slice or two left over for lunch the next day. To feed a larger crowd, or if you just prefer your pizza to be very sparsely topped, divide the toppings among 4 crusts, or simply cut the topping ingredients in half.

Mediterranean Gourmet Pizza

Gluten-free, vegetable-packed homemade pizza that makes you feel great.

Frozen cauliflower crusts, just like ground meat, are freezer staples I love to keep on hand for quick meals. And, of course, Mesa de Vida in the pantry! One of my favorites is Califlour Food’s cauliflower crusts, as well as their flatbreads. The calories are much lower than traditional pizza crust, and for those of us that can’t have, or choose not to have, gluten and/or grains, they make a perfect veggie alternative. Feel free to swap out the crust for any of your favorite frozen, homemade, or traditional pizza crust of your choosing.

Now, don’t get me wrong – I LOVE cheese. (Probably a little more than the average person.) Thankfully it loves me back, and I don’t have any issues digesting it. But, many people I know can’t tolerate much dairy, or are simply choosing to limit, or eliminate it. The rest of this pizza is so flavor-packed, that the cheese is added as almost a seasoning – not the base as is common for most pizza. If you need to, you can eliminate it altogether, and still have an incredible pizza. I promise.

Gourmet Latin Pizza (the best Taco Pizza you’ll ever make!)

Next time you’re thinking about ordering up pizza delivery, try making these fun homemade pizza recipes instead. You’ll have a fabulous gourmet meal in just about the same amount of time it takes for delivery, and you’ll be making memories around the table (where the best conversations happen).

Bring life to the table, and bring life around the table with Mesa de Vida!

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven according to the instructions recommended for your crust. *See tip below if making 2 pizzas.
  2. Meanwhile, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. When hot, add meat, Mesa de Vida North African Cooking & Seasoning Sauce, and salt to taste. Cook, stirring often until the meat is fully cooked.
  3. Have your pizza crusts ready on baking sheets (I like to use parchment paper to prevent sticking.)
  4. Divide the cooked meat and sauce mixture among your pizza crusts, spread evenly to the edge of the crust. Top with the zucchini, onion, and feta cheese.
  5. Bake according to your crust instructions (typically 10 or so minutes). *Tip: If you are making just 2 pizzas I recommend lowering the recommended heat by 25 degrees and cooking about 5 minutes longer to ensure the crust cooks and crisps up thoroughly.
  6. Remove from the oven, top with pinenuts, tomatoes, and fresh herbs. Let the pizzas rest for 5-10 minutes to cool and firm up a bit.
  7. Slice and enjoy!
