This easy recipe transforms two simple ingredients – meat and potatoes – into a versatile, delicious combination with a Smoky Latin twist that is sure to bring life to your table!

This pot of goodness is a fabulous and unique bean-free chili variation that can be made in your slow cooker, or on the stovetop.

As-is, this thick and hearty stew can be served up in a bowl, all it needs is a topping of diced avocado which makes it perfect for Whole30, Paleo, or grain-free, dairy-free lifestyles. If you and your body love dairy though, this definitely becomes over-the-top amazing with a dollop of sour cream and some shredded cheese.

But, that’s not all you can create with this rich and delicious stew. Here are some other ideas to create something new every week, either with the leftovers (you’ll likely have some as this is very filling), or save time and make an extra batch to create any of the following:

  • Add extra broth and any vegetables of your choice (diced carrots, chopped summer or fall squash, corn), and/or beans to create a soupier-soup/or chilier-chili.

Smoky Latin Carne con Papas (Meat and Potatoes)

Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef or any ground meat, or meat substitute, you prefer
  • 1 jar Mesa de Vida Smoky Latin Cooking & Seasoning Sauce
  • 1 1/2 lb diced potatoes
  • 1 cup broth of your choice Add more broth if you'd like this soupier
  • Salt and hot sauce to taste

Instructions
  1. Brown the ground beef. *If making this in a slow cooker transfer the browned meat to your slow cooker and add remaining ingredients to the slow cooker.
  2. Add the Mesa de Vida Smoky Latin Cooking & Seasoning Sauce, potatoes, broth, salt and hot sauce (if using) to the pot, or the slow cooker.
  3. Slow cooker directions: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Stovetop directions: Cover and simmer on low for 40 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
  4. Serve and enjoy!
