While the pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage to the skillet and cook until golden brown, breaking up into crumbles as it cooks.
Add the Mesa de Vida Creole Cooking & Seasoning Sauce and salt to taste. Simmer for 2 minutes.
Add the half and half and shrimp to the pan. Bring to a simmer, cook until the shrimp is cooked and the sauce is thickened to heavy-cream consistency. Add hot sauce to taste, if you wish.
Stir in the hot cooked pasta. Top with parmesan, hot red pepper flakes, and fresh basil if you like.
